Every five years the group develops a regional water resources strategy to identify the best long-term solutions to secure customers’ water supplies, while also protecting the environment.
Today, regional groups are expected to take more of a leading role in driving the development of new water supply options, alongside demand reduction measures, to increase long-term resilience. WRSE is at the vanguard of this work and has signalled its intention to take a leading role in the development of a multi-sector regional resilience plan.
In doing so, it has recognised that communications and engagement are critical ongoing activities that are fundamental to improving and building upon the group’s reputation (and indeed that of the individual water company members) which is why Create 51 has become the go-to resource for supporting WRSE’s work.
Create 51 Director Penny Hodge is leading the team that provides strategic engagement and communications support to help promote the complex work of the group and its modelling outputs into simple, clear and compelling material, that articulates the group’s progress and future direction for regulators and stakeholders.
The team have also galvanised WRSE’s stakeholder engagement strategy, demonstrating its ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as Defra, Ofwat and the Environment Agency, to become a trusted and valuable consultancy partner for WRSE.
