UK Water Industry Research

UKWIR has moved from being a technically-focussed research organisation to one that leads the research agenda – including identifying the future big challenges – and driving the `innovation and collaboration charge’ on behalf of the water sector.

As well as its own strategic direction changing, UKWIR has re-thought its engagement and communication strategy with Create 51 – not least to leverage greater collaboration with other research partners and sectors, gain wider credibility for how its work is influencing the direction of travel for the water sector, and become a recognised and trusted voice in the wider debate around water.

Create 51 continues to work with UKWIR on strategic communications and engagement, including at Board level, to support its growing ambitions to become more forward-thinking, aspirational and influencing in its work.

That has included working with the team establishing Spring, the new innovation centre of excellence for the water sector.

Create 51’s support has included media and stakeholder engagement, including securing coverage in The Water Report and overseeing pre and post-launch webinars, advice on branding and positioning, copyediting and support with Spring’s bid for long-term funding from Ofwat’s innovation fund.
